Here Comes Santa Claus...

We visited Santa last weekend and it's always fun to see how the kids react from year to year.

For Waklee it is the first year she walked right up
sat on his lap
and told him she wants a DS for Christmas
and she was DONE!

As you can see there isn't a picture of Reese with Santa
and so for the first time she was afraid to tell Santa she wants a Barbie house.

And Cute little Can Can wasn't so sure about Santa.
Pretty sure he is asking for an extra large John Deere tractor this year. HE IS SO CUTE!

And props for our cute little valley we live in. We walked into the heated greenhouse
and had zero line for Santa, took our own guilt free pictures and
ate cookies and drank hot cocoa.
I love where we live.

Winter Is Here!

Reese keeps asking when the snow is going to leave. She is used to living in Portland where when it would snow it would also melt the same day. I told her maybe after her birthday the snow will leave; her birthday isn't until April.
I found Canon shoveling the walk barefoot today......definitely a Daddy's boy. I enjoy the snow from the shadows of my book and fireplace.

Indian Summer

What a beautiful fall we have had. The temps stayed nice and warm up until the end of October.

The kids had fun playing in the leaves.

Canon always begging Daddy for "brum-brum" rides.
Look at Canon's lips they are saying, "brum".

The boys made a moto-cross track.....soon to be a snowmachine track.
Beautiful Tetons at sunset.

And a day of fixing fence at Grandpa's farm.

Watching the wheat, hay and potatoes being harvested
......All the reasons we love Idaho.

Cute Little Canon

Canon has spent a few days out at Grandpa Neil's farm. He loves it out there. He goes from the pick-up, to the tractor, to the four-wheeler over and over again.

He climbs all over the tractor and thinks he is driving and moving the bucket all on his own. This week he helped fix fence. Cousin Blake would drill a hole and Canon was ready and waiting to put the nail in the hole to be hammered. And look at those cute little John Deere boots.
I love that boy...

They Came Home To Us

We are so glad to have our missionaries "Return With Honor".
Thankful for their service as missionaries and the blessings we received.
So fun to have them home.
To be able to stop by and say "Hi".
We are excited to be able to go to the our monthly Family Home Evenings.
Glad our little ones will be able to get to know them better.

Most thankful for their wonderful example.
Can't wait to see what they will do next....

Labor Day at String Lake

We spent Labor Day canoeing at String Lake, a lake just above Jenny's Lake.

Beware of Cute Boys.

Spectacular views of the Tetons and luckily we didn't see any bears.

That rowing is tough work!

Cute Sisters. Good times.

Yellowstone National Park

We have talked to the kids for years about Yellowstone National Park and so we went. We stayed in West Yellowstone and packed 17 of us into a hotel for 6 (nice and cozy) but they did have a slide with NO RULZ and this time Reese saved her own life ( she was on some one else's watch.)

We saw bears & wolves at the Discovery Center, so worth it. In the park we saw elk, buffalo, antelope and a car crash. We stopped and watched Old Faithful and I don't believe in the conspiracy theory, it really blows on its own. We ended the day with seeing the Wyoming side of the Tetons and Jackson Lake which are so strikingly beautiful.

Darby Canyon Slide + Grease + Cardboard

We have heard about the Darby Canyon slide repeatedly and so we gave it a try. Of course we couldn't just go down the slide but we had to take cardboard boxes and spray them down with grease. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little scared.

We got going quite fast and by the end
we had kids flying off doing somersaults followed by tears.
