Scout's Sunday

Scout Lana Kunz blessed February 6th, 2011.
Tetonia II Ward; Tetonia, Idaho

What a special and fun day.
Little did we know it was Scouting Sunday and so a number of boys and their leaders were dressed in their Boy Scouting uniforms. When our older kids asked why the boys had on their uniforms we told them they had worn them for Scout's blessing. They thought that was pretty cool. It did catch me off guard when a woman in our ward stood to bear her testimony and said that Scout....ing was really special to her ( I had to process that one for a second.) Scout's blessing day was also fun because once again unknown to us it was also Super Bowl Sunday. At the store when purchasing hot pink tables cloths we were asked about having a hot pink Super Bowl party.

We felt so proud to be able to bless our baby
with so many of our loved ones present,
our families filled a third of the chapel.

Wonderful living near our families.

Birthday Boy!

Cute Little Canon turned two!

This boy has me wrapped around his finger. He is such a sweet little guy. He looks at me with that little sparkle in those big brown eyes and I give him whatever he wants.
A little worried about how much he loves his jammies though. After he takes a bath and is getting dressed for the day he begs to have jammie pants on. Today he woke up from his nap and I told him we had to get ready to go and he sobbed when I took the jammie pants off. I am just imagining him as a thirty year old man still living at home wearing his jammies.

Canon, along with loving all things with an engine and animals loves books. For his birthday he got a little motorbike that we named, "crash", wish you could hear how Canon says, "crash". A few weeks ago I let him sit on the four-wheeler in the garage and was in the kitchen cleaning and I hear him start it up???? Definitely seeing a little "crash" in the future.
Happy Birthday My Boy!

Our View

Grandma Lana said it best,
" Looks like he is in front of a large screen television watching a National Geographic movie of the most beautiful sights and sounds of nature...actually, he one of the most beautiful sights of nature."

This is our view from the bonus room. I love looking at the Tetons throughout the day because they are a never ending changing canvas. My favorite is at early sunrise when the Tetons are on fire and they are bright pink, actually about an hour before this photo was taken they were on fire. Waklee always says, "not literally, right." We often see deer and occasionally moose in the field in front of the house too. Such a beautiful place to live.
A few weeks ago collectively as a family in one day we saw: moose, elk, deer, bald eagle, porcupine, coyote.

Intriguing

We recently hired a massage therapist, she is about my age and has lived so many adventures.
She has not only traveled the world but stayed and lived amongst the natives to experience their cultures and learn their languages.
Traveled to Peru, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, India, Prague. She loves the outdoors and doesn't really know what she wants to do with the rest of her life.....
As she was telling me about her views and travels I interrupted her as I had a huge smile on my face and said the reason I am smiling as you tell me these stories is because this is all so intriguing to me.

Her reply as she held my beautiful, sweet smelling newborn baby and my other three small children ran circles around us was, "well your life is intriguing to me." Yes. My life is intriguing.

I so take for granted what I have and what I believe because to the rest of the world we are Intriguing.

Scout Lana

Sweet Baby Scout
This little girl is a sweetie. She puts up with a lot of noise!
Bringing her home was quite an event!
Reese adores her and is her second mother.
Waklee likes her but has more mature third grade things to do.
Canon was shouting "No" to anyone who wanted to touch her, hilarious!

And oh, boy did my sweet little Canon not look so little anymore.

Scout looks a lot like Reese. And I just might have a blue eyed baby?

2011 Bucket List

Last year I did a 2010 Bucket List and accomplished most things on my list.
I did have the best Summer of my life.
My 2011 Bucket list is going to consist of ..........Just Rolling With It!

For instance next week we are having baby on Tuesday, Waklee has piano that day, starts ski school the next day, and Eric's grand opening is also within days of new baby's arrival. I feel like with little Canon who is almost two and firecracker Reese that my 2011 year is going to be about being flexible and laid back in order to keep everyone happy.....mostly me.
Don't expect too much this year because it is going to be one crazy year.

Instead of my 2011 Bucket List I have been thinking about my little ones and what they bring to my life. I chose two words to describe each of them.

Waklee: Solid & Enjoyable.

My Waklee is so dependable. I find myself watching the clock to see when she will be home because I need her help. And help she does without complaint, mostly. She is very talented and excels and what she does. Waklee is solid with herself (the best quality to have). She's not too worried about what others think and is always just being her. She is most enjoyable to be around because she is helpful and easy. Pretty low maintenance (but definitely has a breaking point). I love spending time with Wakes.

Reese: Random & Admirable.
Reese keeps us guessing. She is high or low and does the most random things. Most often she drives me crazy because there is zero reasoning with this child. But amidst all the craziness with her she is so so fun and keeps all laughing. She is a little daredevil. I think Canon is one lucky little guy because Reese will keep him in trouble! And good luck keeping up with her. I admire that she is so feisty, spunky, strong-willed. She will get wherever she wants to in life.

Canon: Sweetness & BOY.

Everything about Canon is sweet. The way he looks at you, the snuggles he gives, his laugh, his smile, his eyes, the way his feelings get hurt if you tell him No. The way he has sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, Grandmas & Grandpas all wrapped around his finger. Or the broken hearted cry when Dad leaves the house with out him. And mixed just perfectly in with all his sweetness is a BOY. He loves tractors, motor bikes, four-wheelers, snow machines, horses, cows, his cowboy boots and the farm. He walks around the house making sounds of, "brum, brum, or "nnnnnnn, nnnnnnn". He begs to go on anything that makes a loud noise. I think we are in for it with him. He is Simply Sweet.

Will be most fun to see what little sister brings to our home.

The kids for a few more days.

Last night Reese shouted out I can't
wait for the baby and for Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Here Comes Santa Claus...

We visited Santa last weekend and it's always fun to see how the kids react from year to year.

For Waklee it is the first year she walked right up
sat on his lap
and told him she wants a DS for Christmas
and she was DONE!

As you can see there isn't a picture of Reese with Santa
and so for the first time she was afraid to tell Santa she wants a Barbie house.

And Cute little Can Can wasn't so sure about Santa.
Pretty sure he is asking for an extra large John Deere tractor this year. HE IS SO CUTE!

And props for our cute little valley we live in. We walked into the heated greenhouse
and had zero line for Santa, took our own guilt free pictures and
ate cookies and drank hot cocoa.
I love where we live.

Winter Is Here!

Reese keeps asking when the snow is going to leave. She is used to living in Portland where when it would snow it would also melt the same day. I told her maybe after her birthday the snow will leave; her birthday isn't until April.
I found Canon shoveling the walk barefoot today......definitely a Daddy's boy. I enjoy the snow from the shadows of my book and fireplace.

Indian Summer

What a beautiful fall we have had. The temps stayed nice and warm up until the end of October.

The kids had fun playing in the leaves.

Canon always begging Daddy for "brum-brum" rides.
Look at Canon's lips they are saying, "brum".

The boys made a moto-cross track.....soon to be a snowmachine track.
Beautiful Tetons at sunset.

And a day of fixing fence at Grandpa's farm.

Watching the wheat, hay and potatoes being harvested
......All the reasons we love Idaho.
