Disappointment....

Waklee: "Mom, you are going to be so disappointed in Reese!"

Mom: "What did she do?"

Waklee: "She filled my church shoe with water."

The Corner

You may be thinking my kids sure do spend alot of time in the corner, but they really don't and should probably spend more time in there. Today Reese once again was writing on herself. So I get upset and get ready to swat her behind and Wakes yelps, "I am sorry." I look at her and ask what? Well Waklee wrote on her first and then handed her the pen. Nice. So I told Wakes she was going to have to take Reese's swat for her. So I swatted her and sent her to the corner, I was not too happy. I explained to Reese that we don't write on our clothes or bodies and that Waklee and been naughty. Reese immediately runs over to Waklee and scoots herself in front of Wakes and puts her nose in the corner. Oh it was too funny. I just giggled.

How You Doin'

Many of you keep asking how Reese is doing? She is back to our fun crazy girl. Today she found Waklee's markers and wrote all over her jeans and tummy. Yeah. I would say she is 100%. We are still trying to lay low from crowds, groups, grimies. It seems whenever I do take her somewhere there are alot of people she easily gets a runny nose. We are just waiting for the sun to shine around here. It is almost getting depressing with all these clouds and rain. This has been our very most wet dark year we have been in Oregon. But Idaho keeps getting more snow so I guess I should complain.

I got April Fooled!

I am a sucker! Eric picked Waklee up from school today and Eric came in the house and said Waklee is pretty upset. He went on to tell me that a boy at school was being bad and Waklee told the teacher and so the boy punched her in the eye and it is beginning to swell. Oh I for a split second was pretty fired up and then decided I had better be calm. I asked if the teacher has said anything and he said she was going to call and talk to me about it. I was thinking she had better call and it better be in the next few minutes. I then went through the thought process of should I call this boys parents or do I choose to think the teacher delt with the situation correctly. Eric then told me Waklee is out in the living room and wants to talk to her Mom. Oh poor Waklee I think. I go out there and she has a cold Mountain Dew to her eye to help with the swelling and then I see a little twinkle in the eye, oh stupid me it is April Fools Day. So I play along are you okay Waklee? Who hit you? Oh she got a kick out of it. I am a sucker!

Home!

We have been home for five days and are making progress. I think we are all just trying to recover because we have been exhausted. Reese is getting stronger everyday and seems to be doing pretty good. She did have a fever yesterday which is not good and so today at our check-up they put her on an antibiotic as a precautionary. But wow just the thought of going through all that again. So sorry no pictures we are just really tired around here and doing nothing. Wish the sun would shine too.

Reese Update

Our Reesie Girl is doing better. Atleast today the Doctors are giving positive feedback that Reese will recover. It was serious enough that they let us know that it was a life-threatening situation. She is still on a respirator and sedated and will most likely be that way for the 4-6 days and from there we will leave the ICU and go to the acute care floor for about a week. None of this is set it is just how we hope it runs. Continue to pray for us.

Prayers

Our Reese-ie girl had to be admitted into the ICU for pneumonia and it is quite serious. They are telling us we will be here for a week to three weeks right now. We could use everyones prayers for her. Eric's Mom came to help take care of Waklee and the rest of us so we are in very good hands.

Jack Wayne Eavenson September 28th, 1927-March 3,2008

I am so thankful for my deep faith and not having to wonder where or who my Grandpa is with. I hope to someday hear of the happy reunion Grandpa had with his dear wife who passed over twenty years ago and a son who has been gone for thirty five years. I will be giving a short talk of memories at his funeral in Texas.

"Our fond memories of our Grandpa Jack begin with the long road trips filled with the echoes of “are we there yet” anticipating our arrival to the rustic log cabin home, built by our Grandpa, nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. We can each picture that home with the sounds of the creaking wood floor, the feel of the western leather covered chairs, and waking to the aroma of coffee and eggs, and how many grandparents had a creek that ran through their back yard. Our next memories take us to the lakes of Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell where we all learned how to water ski behind Grandpa’s boat and learned to appreciate the ssss of Granpa’s laugh as we took our tumbles over the wake. Kami’s fond memories include spending a few weeks in the summer with her Grandparents and Grandpa picking her up at the airport in his fancy red t-bird. Chad’s include the trip He & I took to Texas to paint Grandpa’s fence thinking all along we were the most worthless grandkids around because we couldn’t take the heat of theTexas sun and after Chad had watched Grandpa’s character he came to a little bit of an understanding of why Chad is how he is. Lex remembers helping prepare Grandpa’s ranch in Colorado to sale and wishing that it didn’t have to be sold and I cherish the few “I love you’s I got out of him at the end of a conversation on the phone. Tagg remembers catching his first and only fish in the creek behind Grandpas home and Grandpa teaching him the domino effect.

Although we each have fond memories our greatest memory is this past Summer when Grandpa made the long hard trip to Idaho to join us for our Williams family reunion. We had a party to celebrate his 80th birthday and My mom shared a few her memories: She said * I remember you driving 20 miles one way through snowdrifts so that I could meet a bus in Jefferson so I could go to a ball game and cheer. *I remember us getting ready to go to town and you would go to the car and honk the horn for Mom and she would come out fighting mad to the car. I never understood why you would want to make her mad to start off. *Jerry remembers that our little cabin was awfully hot when we he told you that we were going to get married. He had sweat rolling off of him. And to go along with that story we asked our Grandpa Jack at the Idaho reunion what he thought of Jerry back then and Grandpa just paused and said, "he was alright" and then I asked, "well what do you think of him now" and with a twinkle in his eyes he said, “He’s alright.” Mom also shared…..I NEVER remember you swearing, getting mad, yelling, talking bad about others, being dishonest, or trying to impress others but I ALWAYS remember you being kind, fair, respectful, helpful, putting everyone else's needs before your own and you were ALWAYS someone I could be proud of.

At this reunion we were able to learn more about our Grandpa and become more acquainted with our Grandfather as as a teasing & pesty brother, a patient husband, a beloved father, a respected Grandfather & Great-Grand Father. One of the sweetest and truest things that was said is when Aunt Liz was quoted saying that “Jack is our Rock of Gibralter, he is always there when we need him.” This trip that Grandpa made was very hard for him physically but meant the world to all of us and we will treasure it always. We love you Grandpa to which we can all hear the reply, “YUh huh.”

Zoom Zoom Zoom!

We had our Elders Quorum Pinewood Derby and I had a great time! I hope everyone else did too. It was so fun to see the creativity that was put into the cars and I one couldn't help but laugh when the cars would take their first trip down the track and their wheels would fall off and roll away leaving the owner searching for the wheel. My Saucee car didn't do too bad either.

The sad thing about our cars is this: Brock hadn't made a car and had called Eric repeatedly during the week to see if Eric was going to make him one. So an hour before leaving I said, maybe a little maliciously, "let's just take that pinewood derby kit and put the wheels on and have Waklee write Brock's Car on it." We did and thought we were pretty funny. Eric added to it: "My daddy wouldn't help me with my car, but my neice did." That piece of wood beat my Saucee car. That's what I get for being a brat. Eric's H2 Hummer took first and beat smart boy Nick Riley's car. And I am gloating with pride that I beat that country boy Simpson's car. So here's to next year.....Good Luck To All!
